Like many large companies, Reed Elsevier knew the benefits of cloud computing technology but are unsure of their readiness to deploy and support it. With the launch of a new flagship product coming up for a globally distributed customer base, they knew they needed leaner operations to take advantage of new technology and to stay competitive.

Following our assessment of their existing systems and overall IT capabilities, Control Group designed and implemented an automated Amazon Web Services cloud deployment system and associated support plan for the launch of the product. With this new agile infrastructure and development operations (DevOps) service methodology in place, Elsevier is able to deploy applications on a global scale without having to build datacenters around the world. They can spin up or dial down capacity on-demand, lowering capital and resource costs, while increasing operational efficiency.
