Challenge

For Pronia, the process of deploying and configuring infrastructure for each prospective client took anywhere from 1 to 3 months due to long lead times for procuring hardware and collaboration with the customer’s IT staff. This caused an adversely long trial cycle, resulting in increased sales conversion times. As Pronia evaluated alternative solutions, the time and cost benefits of migrating to the Amazon Cloud seemed unattainable because of perceived data security and HIPAA-compliance issues.

Control Group Solution

• Assessed the existing systems to determine feasibility of AWS and infrastructure automation.
• Created a rapid deployment production-ready trial environment leveraging encryption of data at rest and in transit.
• Recorded the Glucocare software and AWS infrastructure in testable and repeatable code that is stored in a source code repository, allowing Pronia to deploy trial environments with a few simple commands.
• Continue to provide a fully managed environment under a Business Associate Agreement to maintain compliance under HIPAA regulations.

Benefits

Control Group allowed Pronia to cut their implementation cycle from months to hours by migrating their GlucoCare trial infrastructure to the Amazon Cloud. With HIPAA-compliance as a major concern for both Pronia and their clients, Control Group developed a data encryption model that allowed CG to enter into a business associate agreement (BAA) with Pronia, ensuring a fully-compliant infrastructure that also scaled and supported their business.
